Abstract

On a V-type eight-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, the fluctuation of intake pressure at the inlet port of one cylinder under the conditions of different engine speeds and loads was measured by using of Kistler instantaneous pressure sensor and Dewetron the combustion analyzer. These curves of pressure fluctuation were processed, compared and analyzed. The results indicate that fluctuation history of intake pressure are similar under the conditions of the same speed and different loads. The higher the load is, the larger the mean value of intake pressure is, the bigger the fluctuant range of intake pressure is. But, the intensity of the pressure fluctuation was similar. At different speed, the fluctuant history of intake pressure is different. At different engine speed, the crank angle corresponding to max pressure is different, and at the same time, the intensity of intake pressure fluctuation varies with engine speed fluctuation.
