Abstract

Structure and kinetic characteristic of ventilated flow around a plan are studied by using High Speed Flow Visualization and PIV. Two phases flow of gas and liquid is discussed when Re and Qv are changed along with velocity of main flow and ventilated flow rate, respectively. There are several conclusions. Ventilated bubbles transform from transparent, half-transparent to vague along with increasing Re. To different Re, diversities of ventilated flow are present when Qv is increased. To lower Re, shapes of ventilated bubbles are from long and thin bubbles, ellipsoid to ball. To higher Re, shapes of ventilated bubbles are ribbons and ventilated gas enlarge the length and thickness of ribbon bubbles. Distribution of velocity and vorticity are changed by following the different Re and Qv.
