Abstract

In practical applications of wideband antenna-array processing, the signals to be processed may include either circular or non-circular or both circular and non-circular ones. The problem of direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation for wideband circular/non-circular source signals is addressed in this study. The presented method is based on the incorporation of the envelope alignment and inverse power techniques, involving no steps such as matrix eigendecomposition and preliminary DOA estimation. The performance of the method in terms of the resolution capability and DOA estimation accuracy has been evaluated by extensive simulations and compared with some existing popular wideband DOA estimators.
