Abstract

A new method for revising the curve of clutch engagement based on optimization theory is proposed. Through judging from Hamiltonian function, a new engagement curve can be obtained by correcting the structure of the original curve. Computer simulations are conducted with this method by establishing the clutch model which receives real-time feedback from engine and the results indicate that the principle of the method is correct. The new engagement curve has better performances than the original curve in friction work and jerk.
