Abstract

To study the dynamic performance and influence factors of vehicular power shift clutch charge process, a dynamic simulation model of power shift clutch in charge process was developed. Dynamic variable pattern of charging flow rate was solved. The correctness and effectiveness of system model and simulation method were verified by experimental results. The dynamic characteristic of clutch in charging process and the effects of main parameters, such as pipe diameter, pressure drain hole and clearance of disks, on the charging flow rate and time of clutch engagement were obtained. A math model was developed and simulation methods were reasonable and accurate, and they could be used to analyze and predict the dynamic performance of the power shift clutch in charge process. The pipe diameter and clearance of disks have great influences on the clutch engagement process, and the diameter of pressure drain hole has less influence on the clutch engagement process.
