Abstract

In this paper, the principle of direct digital chirp synthesis (DDCS) is introduced. Then, based on signal analysis methods, the spectrum of synthesized chirp signal is deduced in detail for the first time when there is phase truncation in DDCS. And the expression of spectrum of a DDCS is derived. The impact of amplitude quantifying error and non - ideal characteristic of DAC on spectrum performance of a DDCS is analyzed also. At the end of the paper, the emulated result is presented.
