Abstract
Facing more and more serious problems about formaldehyde pollution, experimental research about destruction of formaldehyde with plasma is presented. Two factors such as the applied voltage and gas residence time in the reactor, which affect the destruction of formaldehyde, are studied. Theoretical analysis is done based on the experiments and a series of plasma chemical reactions when formaldehyde destruction is concluded. The experimental results show that formaldehyde can be effectively removed from gas flow with plasma, the removal efficiency of formaldehyde is improved with the increasing of the applied voltage and the extending of gas residence time in the reactor.
