Abstract

In this paper, a multi-DSP sonar array processing system based on VPX standard is designed. High speed serial switched bus architecture is used for local communications in the system. The design takes TMS320C6455 DSP as the primary processor and TSI578 as the switch. DSPs interconnect via Serial RapidIO bus. Also, NAND flash is utilized for data storage. Practical experiments prove that the Serial RapidIO transmission and NAND flash storage are fast and reliable. In the last, we implement broadband beamforming on the multi-DSP parallel system. The results show that this system has high processing speed.
