Abstract

Before exploration of space, the health risk from space radiation, especially the heavy ion radiation, must be investigated clearly. Present study exposed PC12 cells on 100 MeV/u carbon ion beam radiation at a dose of 2 Gy,and then used a quantification-driven comparative proteomica method based on "0 labeling to study the protein expression changes after 24 hours. It was found that 15 proteins changed markedly in expression level and most of them were heat shock proteins and related with apoptosis. These protein changes were helpful to further study the molecular mechanism of the biological effect of heavy ion radiation.
