Abstract

Signal model has great significance to time and phase synchronization research in a bistatic radar. In prevenient research, time synchronization and phase synchronization are investigated separately and their coupling relation has not been investigated. This paper introduces a bistatic radar signal model according to system's composition and operation procedure. From the radar operation principle, origin of time and phase synchronization in bistatic radar is revealed and their coupling relation is derived in theory.
