Brushless DC motor controller based on TPU module

Abstract

A design of brushless DC (BLDC) motor controller, which is based on the Motorola time processor unit (TPU) module, is presented. A method of controlling BLDC by Motorola MCU (micro control unit) TPU module with DIO and PWM function is introduced. New ways of designing control, driving, protection circuits and software are also introduced. The controller is applied to the auto shift control system. Experiment results show that the hardware is simple and the software is feasible and effective.
