Abstract

As radio-labeled acetate is a good candidate to detect glial metabolism in brains and prostate cancer, ethyl and sodium [18F]fluoroacetates were utilized in clinical PET check. A simple and fast method for preparation of ethyl and sodium [18F]fluoroacetates using Explora FDG4 module has been established. By this development, it has become possible to obtain ethyl and sodium [18F]fluoroacetate in a short synthesis time of 39 and 43 min and with a reproducible radiochemical yield of 49.6 ± 4.7% and 43.1 ± 5.2%, (decay corrected). The radiochemical purity of ethyl and sodium [18F]fluoroacetates were more than 95%.
