Analysis on asymmetric aberration of special domes

Abstract

The wavefront aberrations are introduced by a centered spherical dome. The aberration of different kinds of con-formal dome is studied. The common aberrations of conformal optical domes are characterized, and the results show that similar aberrations can be found in the decentered systems. The terms associated with astigmatism and Coma are given out. The one-order and higher-order aberrations are discussed. The behavior of the aberrations as a function of the dome fineness ratio, edge to vertex thickness ratio is analyzed.
