Abstract

In this paper, we discuss the impedance-loaded wireless passive sensor. The sensor consists of a surface acoustic wave (SAW) device and an external sensor as an impedance load, while the SAW device is used for signal transmission, the external sensor is the real sensing part for measured. When the sensor is working, the echo wave character will change with the variety of sensor impedance, so the amplitude and phase of echo wave could correspond to the change of the measured. We analyzed the P-Matrix of the impedance-loaded sensor, simulated the the sensor with different types of load, and obtained phase response to the change of fingers. The results indicate the applicability of impedance-loaded SAW sensor.
