An Effective TOPS SAR Imaging Algorithm Based on GF-3 Data

Abstract

Terrain observation by progressive scans (TOPS) SAR is one of the main modes to achieve wide-swath imaging. Due to the spectrum aliasing caused by antenna rotation of TOPS SAR, traditional imaging algorithms usually adopt twostep processing to avoid spectrum aliasing. However, these algorithms require zero-padding, which makes the computation cost high. Moreover, the range cell migration (RCM) of the higher term is ignored and additional RCM is introduced in the range cell migration correction (RCMC) processing, which lead to defocused imaging results in the case of long integrated time. In order to solve the above problems, an effective TOPS SAR imaging algorithm is proposed in the paper. The simulations on point targets and GF-3 data show the effectiveness of the proposed imaging algorithm.
