Abstract

The effect of the tissue accumulation and distribution of cadmium (Cd) in male Chinese loaches and of 17β-estradiol (E2) on the distribution of Cd were investigated via using semi-static waterborne exposure system. The results demonstrated that kidney, liver, intestine, and gills were the main targets for Cd accumulation in male Chinese loaches, and Cd bioaccumulation showed an obvious time- and dose- dependent relationship. Little.amounts of Cd were accumulated in muscle, bone, and gonad. In addition, the co-exposure or pretreatment with E2 did not change the main target for Cd accumulation.
