A study on the control strategy for PHEB in energy depletion mode

Abstract

Based on an analysis on different operation modes of plug-in hybrid electric bus (PHEB) and according to the structural configuration of single-axis parallel PHEB, a control strategy for energy management control (covering energy distribution and shifting schedule coordination) of PHEB in charge depletion mode is proposed. Genetic algorithm is adopted to conduct an optimization on shifting coordination control parameters, and an optimal energy distribution and a control strategy for shifting system are obtained. The results of bench tests and simulation analyses verify the feasibility of the control strategy proposed.
