Abstract

This paper extends the results of [1] on the observability and controllability of a networked system with linear time invariant (LMI) dynamics. The assumption, that all the transfer function matrices of its subsystems from the internal input to the external output when isolated from others are of full column normal rank, is not needed anymore. The connections among subsystems are arbitrary, and their dynamic behaviours can be different. The conditions mainly depend on the transmission zeros of the linearly independent part of each modified subsystem and the subsystem connection matrix, which makes them promising in the analysis and synthesis of a large scale networked system. Computation efficiency remains almost the same as that of [1].
