Abstract

A novel supercell lattice method (SLM), based on the combination of PWM and LFM was developed to analyze the photonic crystal fibers (PCF). The dielectric constant of the PCF was considered as the sum of two different periodic dielectric structure which can be expanded in cosine functions. Square lattice, triangular lattice and honeycomb lattice PCFs with circular- or ellipitical- hole PCFs were analyzed. The dielectric structure of every perfect 2-D PC, like the PWM model, can be decomposed using periodic functions (cosine).
