N2 - A new supramolecular compound formulated [Cu(DPC)(H2O) 3] (H2DPC=Pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid) was synthesized under mild conditions and characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectrum, thermogravimetric (TG) analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group of C2/c with a=6.4448(9)Å, b=23.192(3)Å, c=6.9139(12)Å, α=90°, β=106.622(11)°, γ=90°, V=990.2(3)Å3, Z=4, R=0.0580, and wR2=0.1522. The compound exhibits an interesting three-dimensional (3D) supramolecular framework structure with one-dimensional channels, which is constructed by extensive hydrogen-bonding and π-π stacking interactions.
