Abstract

This paper is addressed to a design of radar vehicle detector based on DSP processor-TMS320VC5402. Different from conventional radar vehicle detectors which could only measure speed or distance separately, this detector combines radar of the two designations: continual wave(CW) radar and linear frequency modulated continual wave(LFMCW) radar and has advantages of both CW in speed measurement and LFMCW in distance measurement. And the result of experiment proves that accuracy of measurement of traffic and speed of vehicle by this detector is up to 95% and it is very suitable to intelligent transportation management system.
