A measurement system for area array smoke transmittance based on LabVIEW

Abstract

Transmittance of propellant plumes has a direct influence on performance and accuracy of guided weapons. An area array smoke transmittance measuring system can get an area transmittance of plumes, its precision and stability are better than a single channel measurement system. The data acquisition and processing software based on LabVIEW platform was introduced in this paper. It can measure and display the smoke transmittance of laser, visible light and infrared real-time, store data, generate and print report, etc. The experimental results show that this measuring software has a high degree of automation and a good human-computer interaction. It is easy to handle, and able to meet the requirements for area array smoke transmittance testing in multiband.
