Abstract
A Dual-band monopole antenna for 5G millimeter wave test frequency band is proposed. The Dual-band monopole antenna is proposed by optimizing the resonant structure and return loss of the circular ring monopole antenna. The second resonance frequency of the antenna moves to the low frequency segment by extending the feeder to the inner part of the ring as a resonant branch. The antenna is fed by 50 O microstrip line and the antenna feed is optimized by adding a rectangular slot on the ground to increase the antenna impedance bandwidth. Simulation results show that the proposed antenna satisfies the -10 dB return loss bandwidth from 19.9GHz to 28.2GHz, and 36.9GHz to 42.89GHz. In the band of 19.9GHz to 28.2GHz, the antenna gain is greater than 3.44 dBi, and in the band of 36.9GHz to 42.89GHz, the antenna gain is greater than 2.61 dBi.
