Abstract

{2-[1-(2,6-Diisopropylphenylimino)ethyl]pyridyl}palladium dibromide (1) was synthesized and crystallized as red crystals from chloroform in the monoclinic space group P21/c or as yellow crystals from methanol in the triclinic space group P1. Other solvents, such as THF and acetonitrile, gave mixtures of red and yellow crystals. With very little conformational differences between the molecules in the dimorphs of 1 the crystal packing is a herringbone array in 1-red and a parallel array in 1-yellow, with the supramolecular interactions differing in the Br⋯π and C-H⋯Br contacts.
