Abstract

The latest outputs of research and development on domestic flame retarded wire and cable were analyzed by means of bibliometric methods based on China National Knowledge Infrastructure and China National Intellectual Property Administration database. It focuses on the annual data of paper publication and patent application from 1986 to 2018 to find out the technical evolution of flame retarded wire and cable. The research hotspots of cable flame-retardancy technology were concluded by the hot keywords and annul data of papers and patents. The statistics show that the new millennium has seen the rapid growth of the number of related paper and patent application. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) as polymer matrix sparks concern over related papers while polyethylene (PE) in related patents. The inorganic flame retardant is still the most popular,but high-efficiency intumescent flame retardant and nano technologies is generating considerable recent research interests.
