Abstract
In order to predict the remaining useful life (RUL) of power-shift steering transmission (PSST) based on multiple degradation failure modes, and to realize an accurate RUL prediction and provide a better formulation for condition-based maintenance (CBM),a degradation modeling and RUL prediction method considering the undefined relevance of multiple failure modes and time-varying variance of degradation monitoring data is proposed. The concept of RUL is defined based on the first hit time (FHT) of stochastic process, and the RUL prediction considering the unknown correlation of different degradation failure modes is realized. The case study shows that the RUL prediction result obtained by the proposed method has small relative error and is closer to the actual RUL.The proposed method can objectively describe the performance degradation law of the PSST,which is helpful to understand the failure mechanism of the PSST,and provides a beneficial reference for the reasonable development of CBM strategy.
