Vortex cavitation mechanisms in shear layer flow

摘要

The generation mechanisms for vortex cavitation in high-shear layers were studied by observing cavitation around a hollow-jet valve with high-speed photographs and a high-speed video camera. The unsteady viscous flows around the valve were also simulated numerically. The results showed that there were two kinds of cavities in the vortex cavitation flow, cavitation bubbles and cavitating vortices. The cavitating vortices contained many cavitation bubbles in the cores of the vortices. These bubbles were generated by the vortex process.
