摘要
The concept of `Unequal Power Control' is proposed to meet the need of integrated traffic transmission in ATM/CDMA wireless communication networks. By `Unequal Power Control' we mean that power control in the reverse channels is such that the signal power received at the receiver be unequal for different kinds of traffic while being equal for the same kind of traffic. `Unequal Power Control' in the case of single traffic becomes the power control in the current CDMA cellular networks (i.e., Equal Power Control). Using voice/data integrated traffic as an example, a detailed analysis of the optimum power factor, the throughput and capacity of the reverse channels in the case of unequal power control and the comparison with the equal power control case are both presented. The results show that unequal power control can expand the allowable load area and provide a significant improvement in the system capacity comparing with equal power control.
