Understanding the efficiency of cooperation in location-aware wireless networks

摘要

Localization techniques are crucial for wireless networks in the age of big data. Exploiting pairwise measurements between agents, the scheme of cooperative localization yield superior performance and has been discussed extensively. However, despite its great significance for network design, the efficiency of cooperation remains an open topic. By introducing a decomposition of the Fisher information matrix (FIM), this paper gives a natural definition of cooperation efficiency, and relate it to the information coupling among nodes. Geometric interpretations of this decomposition is given and illustrated by numerical examples.
