N2 - In this paper, we consider MIMO beamforming in the presence of Rayleigh product channels. Based on a derived largest eigenvalue distribution, the key performance metrics of the beamforming system are obtained, assuming perfect channel knowledge at the transmitter and receiver. Using the closed-form expressions, we gain insights into the behavior of MIMO beamforming systems in scenarios of practical interest.
