The progress of naval ship explosion protection technology

摘要

The passive defense approach (explosion protection technology), as the last layerprotection meansof naval ships, has a significant impact on the development of modern naval ships because of increased explosion powers of anti-ship weapons. The weapon type, damage mechanism and protection technology development are discussed from two aspects of air blast and underwater explosion. The developments in broadside underwater torpedo defence cabin, composite sandwich structure, box girder structures, ship side venting structure, impact protection of equipment and personnel, mitigation of water mist, new anti-shock layer are studied. The development trends of ship protection technology are presented from the aspects of stop, transfer, dissipation and slow release of shock waves.
