N2 - The finite-element simulation of the intra-body communication used in wireless body area networks has been introduced. Firstly, a novel finite-element method for modeling the whole human body is proposed, while a FE model of the whole human body used for IBC simulation was developed. Secondly, the simulations of the galvanic coupling IBC with the different signal transmission paths were implemented. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed method was verified by using the in vivo measurements. Our results indicate that the proposed method will offer the significant advantages in theoretical analysis and the application of the intra-body communication used in wireless body area networks.
