N2 - Hydroxy-terminated polyepichlorohydrins with different structure were synthesized by the cation opening-ring polymerization of epichlorohydrin using different polyhydric alcohols as initiators. Then, the azidoterminated glycidyl azide polymers were obtained by the reactions of sulfonation and azidonation in succession. The structure and thermal property of GAPAs were characterized by FTIR, GPC, DSC and TG. Results show that the number-average molecular weights of GAPA-2, GAPA-3 and GAPA-4 are 810, 830 and 1190, respectively. The glass transition temperatures of GAPA-2, GAPA-3 and GAPA-4 are -67. 5'C , -63. 8'C and -58. 6'C, respectively. The thermal decomposition of GAPAs can be divided into two stages. The first stage is the decomposition of the azido and the second stage is the decomposition of the main chain of polyether.
