Synthesis and mechanical properties of glycidyl azide polymer-based energetic thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers with different chain extender

摘要

The glycidylazide polymer-based (GAP-based) energetic thermoplastic polyuretha neelastomers (ETPUE) were synthesized using different small diols as chain extender. The change tendency of properties of different ETPUE was studied by GPC, FT-IR, DMA and mechanical testing. The results show that in the case of diols with functionality more than 2, the ETPUEs using even diols have stronger hydrogen bonds and better mechanical properties. The ETPUE of odddiols have weaker hydrogen bonds and poorer mechanical properties. The segment of ethylene glycol (EDO) is too short and thus the ETPUEs using EDO are similar to those of the odd series. In general, the ETPUEs using hexanediol (HDO) provide the best performance.
