Surface acoustic wave propagation in the variable-thickness complex shape components

摘要

Variable-thickness curved components, that have been widely used in many fields, are always caused serious accidents by the surface and subsurface defects, Therefore, how to detect and identify the variable-thickness complex shape components defects is of great significance. For the variable-thickness shape components' surface and sub-surface defects' detecting, it has been testified that surface wave detecting theory is correct by analyzing the effects of curvature radius to the surface wave's velocity and wave number theoretically. Based on the theoretical analysis conclusions and the wavelet signal processing method, a synthetically defect location identification method has been presented. Finally, the defect orientation identification has been researched more accurately with the principle of ellipse imaging algorithm. The experimental results show that the surface wave detecting method could detect the location, depth and orientation of defect in the variable-thickness complex shape components accurately.
