N2 - The nanofiltration processes for purifying fructo-ligosaccharides were simulated successfully based on extended pore model and different operation modes. Base on previous reports, the methods for calculating solution properties of fructo-oligosaccharides, including density, osmotic pressure, viscosity and diffusion coefficient, were obtained in terms of the structure comparability between oligosaccharides and small molecular sugars. Three technical indices for purifying fructo-oligosaccharides, including yield, dilute water consumption and normalized operation time, were chosen as the optimization goal. Then, the initial feed concentration, system temperature, operation pressure and dilute ratio were optimized by the results of process simulation. All these optimized results provided dependable data to the industrial design for fructo-oligosaccharides purification.
