Study on combustion properties of hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane

摘要

Combustion properties of hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane (HNIW) were studied by means of real-time monitoring system and burning rate measurement system for solid propellants, and relative light intensity method was used to determine temperature distribution of HNIW combustion flame in the measurement system of the combustion flame temperature distribution. The results show that the pressure exponent of HNIW is higher under the range of low pressure of 1-13 MPa, and the use of catalyst OME can obviously decrease the pressure exponent. There is a platform combustion zone under 15 MPa to 19 MPa pressure. Along with raising of the pressure, the highest combustion temperature will approach the theoretical combustion temperature, which means that the relative light intensity method is more suited to measure temperature distribution of high burning rate propellants combustion flame under high pressure.
