N2 - Range dependence of clutter spectrum distribution will often occur in airborne phased array radar scenario. The clutter suppression would suffer performance loss due to the degraded clutter estimation by conventional STAP method. To solve this problem, a STAP method based on random phase coded signal for range ambiguity clutter suppression is proposed in this paper. Firstly, code type discrimination is designed for different range gates. Secondly, mismatched filter is used to solve the problem of signal decorrelation caused by waveform agility. Afterwards, STAP weights are computed to suppress residual clutter. In this method, the range ambiguity clutter is extracted from the coding domain, thus the performance of target detection is improved. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation results.
