N2 - This paper investigates sampled-data-based dissipative load frequency control (LFC) for multi-area power systems with transmission delays. Firstly, a decentralized delay-dependent LFC model for each area of a power system via sampled-data control is established. Secondly, under a strict (Q0, S0, R0)-dissipative framework, a stability condition dependent on the transmission delay and sampling period is proposed. Then, a exponential decay rate is introduced to guide LFC design for improving the frequency response dynamic performance. Thirdly, a strict (Q0, S0, R0)-dissipative LFC scheme is first presented, which includes the H∞, passive, mixed H∞ and passive LFC schemes. Finally, single-area and three-area power systems are employed to show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
