Rheological and mechanical properties of stearic acid modified HBPE-PP blends

摘要

Two types of aliphatic hyperbranched polyester (HBPE) were synthesized from 2, 2-dihydroxymethyl propanyl acid (DMPA) and 1, 1, 1-trihydroxymethyl propane (TMP) via pseudo-one-step and One-Step method, respectively. The terminal groups of HBPE were modified by stearic acid, and the mechanical and rheological properties of modified HBPE-Polypropylene (PP) blends were investigated. The HBPE synthesized of pseudo-one-step method exhibits better modification effects than that of one-step method. In contrast to PP, when HBPE content is 3%, the viscosity of blend decreases 50%, and the elongation increases 14%, while the tensile strength maintains constant.
