Research into the effect of intake port position on the variable performance of intake swirl in diesel engines

摘要

A helical port model and a directional port model were designed and manufactured for a four-valve diesel engine. On the steady flow rig, the inlet of the directional port was partially warded off by a baffle to adjust the intake swirl. Some experiments were carried out to understand how the relative position of the two ports affects the variable performance of intake swirl. The results indicate that the relative position of the two ports has less effect on the air flux, but has obvious effect on the swirl ratio and regulation of intake swirl.
