Renewable Energy Consumption Assessment based on Energy Storage System and its Dispatch Flexibility

摘要

With the increase of the penetration rate of renewable energy in the power system, large-scale abandonment of wind and solar has become an important problem that plagues the development of the power system. In this paper, based on the analysis of the operating characteristics of the power system, a mathematical model is established for various conventional power generation components and energy storage systems, which includes pumped storage power stations and electrochemical energy storage systems. In order to avoid the invalid circulation of renewable energy in the energy storage system, the consistency constraint of the working state of the energy storage system in the whole region is established. Finally, considering the scheduling flexibility of the energy storage system, a short-term time series production simulation is carried out. Taking desensitized data in a certain place in northern our country as an example, the consumption of renewable energy is simulated, and it is found that the introduction of energy storage system can effectively reduce the amount of discarded renewable energy. And as the dispatch flexibility factor increases, the amount of renewable energy discarded gradually decreases.
