Product quotation method with skin thickening oriented to 3D printing platform

摘要

Aiming at the inaccurate material quotation problem of Shapeways 3D printing caused by rough calculation on material volume with machine space algorithm, a skin thickening method was presented by combining signed distance field with offset method. Thus, a new material cost calculation model was constructed precisely with the thickening method. Based on considering of material cost and manufacturing process cost, a set of product quotation scheme was established for 3D printing platform. A quotation process was presented, and some cases were given to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.
