Photocatalysis system including both ru (ir) photosensitizer and polyoxometalates

摘要

Polyoxometalates (POMs) are a family of anionic metal-oxo clusters, attracting much attention based on their unique structures and remarkable properties. POM is one type of widely used catalyst owing to their special features of excellent thermal stability, strong redox activity, and multi-electron transfer and storage properties. Cyclometalated units of Ru(N^N)3 and Ir(C^N)2(N^N) have intriguing photo physicochemical properties, such as strong photo-absorption and long excited state lifetime, thus playing an important role in photocatalysis. In the past decade, the photocatalysis system incorporating Ru (Ir)-photosensitizers and POMs received rapid development. In this review, the coupled modes of Ru (Ir)-photosensitizer and POMs were classified into four categories, and the future development was prospected as well.
