Outer conductor vertical tin-plating process and its key parameters for the semi-flexible coaxial cable

摘要

Holistic tin-plating on the outer conductor is one of the key processes in the manufacture of semi-flexible coaxial cable. However, in the traditional horizontal tin-plating process, disadvantages such as pinhole defects and low production efficiency cannot be avoided. In order to solve these problems, a vertical tin-plating process was proposed in this papoer. This new method can reduce the immerging length to 10-100, mm and reduce the tin-plating time to less than 1.0, s. Shortened immerging length and time are able to reduce pin-holes, and improve the tin coating quality and production efficiency. Experimental results indicate that with the molten tin temperature being 255-265°C, the immerging time 0.5-1.0, s, the immerging length 40-80, mm, and the speed of cable 4-6,m/min, there will be no pinhole defects in the tin coating and its quality is excellent.
