N2 - The effects of the superspheroidal radomes on the characteristics of Archimedean spiral antennas are investigated in detail, which may provide some useful insights in the design of the radome-antenna system in practical engineering. All interactions between the radome and antennas are rigorously included in the coupled surface integral equation (CSIE) model, which leads to more accurate results than those of the existing methods based on the high-frequency algorithm or the decoupled radome-antenna analysis procedure especially when the antennas are placed in the close proximity of the radome. Numerical results show that the performance of the spiral antenna is significantly changed due to the presence of the radome.
