Numerical simulation of underwater supersonic gas jets with phase transitions

摘要

In order to study the complex phase transformation process of underwater solid rocket motor, the criterion of evaporating-condensing process and simulation model were established based on the thermoxynamic principles. We developed a simulation model of the complicated processes of supersonic jets according to thermodynamic principles. We obtained the numerical transmission processes of heat and mass by modifying the source item of the basic equations in the volume of fluid (VOF) model. The simulation results agreed with those of the experiment, thus confirming the feasibility and reliability of using the proposed model for phase transition processes. We also simulated the phase transformation process of the model under typical working conditions and analyzed gaseous jets characterized by high temperature and high speed underwater. The results show that the model has good applicability in solving phase transition problems in complex conditions, and can be helpful in addressing relevant engineering problems.
