abstract = "To study the safety of display shells setting off, it is necessary to test or simulate its pressure field. Based on the mechanics of explosion and propagation theory of shock wave, this paper applied AUTODYN to establish a TNT model equivalent to the 3-inch display shell, and then carried out numerical simulation for its setting off pressure field to obtain the shock wave pressure distribution curves. Then the simulated pressures were compared with the experimental results, and the errors were less than 0.001 MPa, whose influence on the safety evaluation was in the acceptable range. The results show that this simulation is of great significance for it can evaluate the safety of display shells setting off instead of test.",
