Numerical simulation and experiment on penetration of projectile into multi-layer concrete target

摘要

Computer numerical simulation can used to describe the physical phenomena of penetration process, such as the deformation and damage of projectile and target, the distribution and development of dynamic stress field, and the propagation of stress wave, in detail. The explicit finite element dynamic analysis software MSC-Dytran is applied to simulate the penetration of projectile into multi-layer concrete targets. A flow-solid coupling algorithm is used to describe the material flow during the caving of target surface and the spalling of target back. The numerical simulation results are compared with the test results. The numerical simulation results are well agreement with the experimental data, which the effectiveness of the numerical simulation model and the calculated results.
