Numerical computing model and verifying for cavitating turbulent flows

摘要

This paper describes a numerical computing model for cavitating turbulent flows and computes the cavitating flows around a hollow-Jet Valve. Based on homogeneous equilibrium models and liquid-gas transmission equation, Navier-Stokes equations are selected as a basic one, and a liquid-gas quality transmission model provided by Kunz. This research adopted the standard k-ε turbulent model, the SIMPLE method for steady flowing computing, and the PISO method for unsteady computing. To assess the computation model, cavitating flow around a hollow-Jet Valve is computed and experimented. Both of the results are consistent, which show that the flowing model and computing method are reliable.
